The aim of this GWO BTT Merit Siemens Level 1-4 is to cover the gap between the BTT and Siemens Level 1,2,3 & 4 thus enabling the delegate to obtain a full BTT by Merit and ensure the Delegates have the knowledge and skills to carry out basic mechanical tasks (supervised by an experienced technician), using safe working procedures and the correct PPE as for the BTT.

  • Yaw system
  • Cooling system
  • Lubrication system
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS A valid Siemens Level 4 certificate DURATION 4,5 hours

Course Objectives BTT Merit Siemens Level 1-4 shall ensure Delegates are able to:.
  1. Explain the function and operating principles of the gearbox.
  2. Explain how to check hoses and seals and explain the importance of the right oil level.
  3. Explain the function and operation of the mechanical and the aerodynamic brake
  4. Demonstrate how to perform the inspection of the brake system
  5. Explain the function and operation of the yaw system
  6. Explain how to perform the inspection of the yaw system
  7. Explain which components in a WTG have to be cooled and why
  8. Demonstrate how to perform the visual inspection of the cooling system
  9. Explain which components in a WTG have to be lubricated and why
  10. Demonstrate how to perform the visual inspection of the lubrication system
